There are many reputed private technical universities in India who are providing B.Tech, M.Tech & PhD degrees. Students who were unlucky to click, IITs, NITs, IIITs, Central Universities, Other Central Institutes of National Importance, state GECs should go for these reputed private technical universities rather than any state private engineering colleges. There are some private universities like BITS pilani and so who gets their ranking equivalent to top IITs of the country every year.

In my personal opinion, the students should go for these private universities who actually maintain their quality education level next to IITs, NITs, IIITs at-least and some equivalent to NITs and IIITs also. IgEn keeps on posting the ranking of different institutes with respect to various parameters. You can refer to the ranking of engineering colleges to decide on which college to choose or not. IgEn presents much more details about these institutes in individual posts. This post is meant to inform you the brief information about all these institutes.

      Dear Majumdar,
Shiv Nadar University is a good one for research. But it is a new University. I would suggest go for Integrated MSc Maths in BIT, Mesra. You can always do a good research in an integrated 5 years program if your supervisor is good. Since, BIT Mesra is an old institute, its alumni network is good, and a fair chance is that you will get good contacts and reference for your PhD.

I would also suggest you to go through the profile of the faculty members of both the institute and their recent research work. That would also help you to take the decision.
