Engineering is defined as the branch of science and technology concerned with the design, building, and use of engines, machines, and structures. But in this progressing world, engineering seems to have adopted a more nuanced and reformed definition. Engineering is the action through which something is created, innovated to be precise, and engineers are the magicians who make theoretical ideas and dreams become reality. With this very idea in their minds, the students of National Institutes of Technology come together this year for the 7th edition of the NIT Conclave.
The NIT Conclave is a confluence of all the NIT’s, where they get a platform to come together and discuss issues which directly affect the student fraternity. Apart from this it also serves as a stage where the brightest minds of our nation brainstorm issues of national importance. As a group of Institutes of National Importance, the Conclave strives to propose solutions to the issues hindering the development of our nation.
As each NIT comes from a particular region of the country, it aims at breaking barriers of regional diversity and utilize different perspectives in coming to the optimum solution. Thus the entire NIT fraternity comes together every year to discuss, debate, and compete (in a presentation competition) and thereby to break boundaries to make ideas into actual innovations.
This year the Conclave would be held from 1st to 3rd September in NIT Silchar, Assam, and the team of NIT Conclave, Silchar has been completely committed to making it a huge success. More importantly, some major personalities like Mr. KAILASH SATYARTHI, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate 2014 have kindly accepted to grace the occasion with their presence.
So let’s all come together, as NITians, as engineers and as thoughtful citizens to make the Conclave just as big a success as its predecessors, and hopefully even more.

For the first time in the history of NIT Conclave, a Technical Module has been included along with the usual Presentation Competition, so has been a cultural night.
